Watson was heading to Brighton to finalize a move on the last day, with a reported £13 million contract,
but Kevin Thelwell has now been handed a lifeline.After the two teams were unable to reach an agreement,
transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced that Watson’s planned move to the South Coast is off.
After speaking with Simon Adingra, Sunderland’s desire to sign a Brighton player on loan was unsuccessful.
