£10m Archie Gray agreement on the cards at Tottenham with Leeds
£10m Archie Gray agreement on the cards at Tottenham with Leeds
Tottenham forward Manor Solomon could make his loan stay with Leeds United permanent.
Spurs paid Leeds £30million to sign Archie Gray in the summer [via BBC Sport, 2 July 2024], and it has been suggested previously that the Whites could offer Tottenham a discount on any payments owed for the 18-year-old in exchange for Solomon.
The 25-year-old has been mooted to make his stay at Elland Road permanent for a fee of £10million, and has been in fine form as of late, scoring four goals and providing four assists in his last nine Championship appearances for the Whites.
Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the forward’s permanent transfer to West Yorkshire will be even more straightforward now.
“I think this would be one of the easiest permanent deals of all time,” Wenham said.
“Solomon is playing well, and Tottenham will owe Leeds at least two more £10m payments for Gray – I’m sure that was spread over three years. Therefore, we just won’t pay Leeds one of the £10m payments and they can keep Solomon.
“I think around £10m is a fair price. After that, who knows, Tottenham might also have to make a payment to Shakhtar Donetsk.”
Tottenham to agree Manor Solomon deal with Leeds United?
It appears as though Solomon doesn’t have a future in North London. Therefore, a permanent transfer to Leeds would make sense.
However, for that to be possible, the winger would need to be playing well, which he is at the moment.
As a result, should he keep this form up between now and the end of the season, it is certainly possible that the Whites would be interested in keeping hold of the player.
And if any agreement can be reached based on Gray’s previous transfer, that makes things even easier.
