DONE DEAL: Derby County seal third January transfer for Sondre Langas as medical completed today
Derby County are expected to confirm the signing of Norwegian international and Viking FK defender Sondre Langas after the centre-back completed his medical earlier today.
Langas is set to sign a four-and-a-half-year deal with Derby after completing the formalities of his switch to Pride Park.
Derby have paid around £4m for the defender who will become their third signing of the January window following Matt Clarke and Langas’ ex-Viking FK team-mate Lars-Jorgen Salvesen.
Derby have been tracking the centre-back for some time with Langas having won two caps for his country and is recognised as one of Norwegian’s football’s most promising prospects.
Langas, who is a right-sided centre-back who can also play at right-back, will now be in contention to face Norwich City in the Championship next weekend.
He is not likely to be the last of Derby’s January window arrivals with the club hoping to add a midfielder and a winger to the squad before the close of play on Monday with the deadline shutting at 11pm.
