Everton eyeing late move for Taiwo Awoniyi
After falling down the Nottingham Forest hierarchy, Taiwo Awoniyi is now a target for Everton.
The Super Eagles striker has also been linked to West Ham, another Premier League team.
This season, Awoniyi, 27, has made 20 appearances for high-flying Forest, although he has only
scored once. The winter transfer window, which ends on February 3, gives Everton a total of 33.5
million pounds to spend on reinforcements. According to Tuttosport, Everton wants to use some of
this money to make a last-minute move for Awoniyi, who has shown himself in the Premier League despite recent injury struggles.
Everton to Awoniyi’s Rescue
Everton is in dire need of adding more attacking players during the January transfer window
because David Moyes has been sidelined by injuries to some of his best players.
The Toffees will provide Moyes with money in the winter transfer window to acquire at least two attackers, according to a report from the Italian tabloid Tuttosport.
Moyes will receive approximately £33.5 million to strengthen the attacking position. If Beto is sold
to Torino in the coming days, Everton may also be able to raise more funds.
Although they are looking at alternative options, Everton expressed interest in Rangers forward
Hamza Igamane during the January transfer window. The most recent addition to Everton’s shortlist
is Taiwo Awoniyi, a striker for Nottingham Forest.
