Sondre Langås of Viking FK is getting closer to joining Derby County in the winter transfer window.

The Norwegian club is “about to sell” the 23-year-old to Derby County, according to Aftenblad.

According to their title, Paul Warne’s team will pay Viking more than NOK 50 million [€4.26 million] for the center-back.

As he approaches Derby County, the outlet reports that Langås will continue his career in England, advancing the operation.

The defender is reportedly “about to be sold” to the Championship team during current window, according to TV2.

Derby County will have to pay at least NOK 60 million [€5.1 million] for the operation, which is more than Aftenbladet had stated. Bonuses will be NOK 10 million, as TV2 adds that the total fee may increase to NOK 70 million [€5.96 million].

Because of this, Langås is now the most costly defender to be sold in Norwegian football.

TV2 goes on to say that before the procedure is completed, the Norwegian international must undergo medical testing with the English team. Within the next few hours, the transfer ought to be completed.

After joining Viking in July 2023, Langås made 43 appearances for the team across all competitions.
