The Celtic vs. Motherwell match has been postponed.

The last 2022 encounter between Fran Alonso’s Celtic FC team and Motherwell

was set for this lunch at Excelsior Stadium. The game has been postponed, though,

because of the icy conditions in Airdrie, according to a pitch inspection this morning.

Friday’s Celtic B team game was also postponed, but on Wednesday, when the focus returns to Celtic Park,

where Ange Postecoglou’s Champions play Livingston in the first of two home games before Christmas,

with St Johnstone visiting the weekend, there won’t be any such annoyances.

However, that concludes 2022 for Fran Alonso and his dynamic Celtic team. Instead,

the tenacious but expanding group of Celtic FC Women’s supporters will receive the incalculable

benefit of being able to watch this afternoon’s World Cup final. And perhaps we’ll be watching the

Women’s World Cup next summer, where players like Claire O’Riordan (Ireland), Olivia Chance (New Zealand),

Jacynta (Australia), and Clarissa Larisey (Canada) might be competing.
