Stoke City confirm striker exit as deadline day looms
Niall Ennis has left Stoke City to join Blackpool on loan until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has made one start and eight sub appearances for Stoke in 2024/25 and Mark Robins has sanctioned his exit after bringing in Ali Al-Hamadi from Ipswich Town on loan and bringing back Nathan Lowe from a loan at Walsall.
Ennis scored the winner for Stoke in the FA Cup third round against Sunderland and started at Portsmouth in the league last week but has found game time hard to come by, particularly since the departure of Steven Schumacher.
Sporting director Jon Walters said: “With limited opportunities in our squad and interest from several clubs, we felt this was the right move for Niall at this stage. He has previously enjoyed success in the league, and we believe this loan will provide him with the valuable playing time he needs. We wish Niall the best of luck during his time at Bloomfield Road.”
Stoke are still trying to bring in new blood themselves, with the deadline passing at 11pm on Monday.
Ennis said: “I’m just happy to get it over the line. I’m buzzing to be here and I’m looking forward to working with Steve Bruce as he has a lot of wisdom and experience having worked in the Premier League.”
