Just In: Aston Villa affirms their interest in a January transfer for a Chelsea player.
Joao Felix of Chelsea is a player that Aston Villa is interested in signing,
but sports director Monchi acknowledges that a deal will probably be “complicated” this January.
After a disappointing loan stint during the 2022–2023 season, Felix returned to
Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last summer in a transaction valued at over £42 million.
With only one goal and one assist in the Premier League this season, Felix has once again
flattered to deceive while wearing a Chelsea shirt, and there is growing conjecture that
the offensive midfielder may be headed for the exit.
According to reports, Felix has become dissatisfied with his more supporting role in west
London under Enzo Maresca. Villa has been keeping a careful eye on the situation,
and Unai Emery is a well-known admirer of the Portugal international.
Felix has emerged as a key target to help cover the vacuum left by Colombian forward
Jhon Duran, who is about to make a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.
According to the most recent sources, he has even requested to vacate Stamford Bridge.
Because of the strict Financial Fair Play regulations, the first thing we will do with the
proceeds from the sale of Duran is to retain a portion of them. Villa’s leader Monchi told AS in Spain.
