DONE DEAL: Borussia Dortmund has agreed to pay €33 million to acquire one of Arsenal’s top defenders. Conditions agreed upon

According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football,

Borussia Dortmund are looking to reinforce the left side of their defence in the

ongoing transfer window, and they are interested in Arsenal outcast

Oleksandr Zinchenko. The German giants have held fresh talks with the

English club regarding a loan move for the Ukrainian international.

Mikel Arteta played a massive role in bringing Zinchenko to North London from

Manchester City in the summer of 2022. Having seen him up close during his days as

Pep Guardiola’s assistant, the Spanish manager was convinced he could do wonders for the Gunners.

While Zinchenko was an integral part of their first team in the initial seasons,

he has gone down the pecking order of late. The Ukrainian international is no

longer an important part of Arteta’s squad and he has only racked up 408 minutes of first-team action in the ongoing campaign.

His contract at the North London club runs until the summer of 2026,

but Arsenal are ready to negotiate his departure. Borussia Dortmund who are

looking to strengthen the left-back position are well aware of Zinchenko’s situation.

Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Zinchenko

While they were initially looking to sign Renato Veiga from Chelsea,

he has ended up joining Juventus. As a result, Dortmund are looking to add the

Ukrainian international to their squad. His arrival will not only strengthen the

left side of their defence, but they will also have another option in the centre of the park thanks to his versatility.

Given the kind of experience the 28-year-old has, he can surely be a great acquisition for them.

The Bundesliga giants have already contacted Arsenal, and they are in talks with them regarding a loan deal for Zinchenko.

The former Manchester City star is keen on moving to Germany but things are

not that straightforward as Borussia Dortmund are also looking at Ben Chilwell.

The English full-back is surplus to requirements at Chelsea and is up for grabs in the ongoing window.
