Derby County vs. Sheffield United: “New” kickoff time, forecast, squad information, and starting lineups
Relegation-threatened Derby County will host Sheffield United at Pride Park on Saturday afternoon in a
Championship matchup with the goal of earning their first second-tier points of 2025.
After a run of losses in January, the Rams have fallen to the bottom of the table,
while the Blades are aiming for an instant return to the Premier League. Derby County fans
have watched their team’s performance in the Championship plummet since the Boxing
Day victory over their Midlands rivals, West Bromwich Albion.
The hosts on Saturday are currently on a six-game losing streak in the second division,
which has increased concerns about relegation to League One.
Last Saturday afternoon saw the most recent of those concerning losses come to
Cardiff City’s home ground in South Wales. Callum Robinson and Anwar El-Ghazi’s goals
helped the Bluebirds win, even though midfielder Lars-Jorgen Salvesen, who recently
signed from Viking in Norway, scored his first goal for the Rams.
Even though Paul Warne has praised the 28-year-old’s immediate impact on the East
Midlands dressing room, there is a strong belief that Derby needs to add at least three
more players before the winter transfer window ends in February, particularly since
Eiran Cashin is expected to join Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Rams have fallen to 22nd place in the Championship standings ahead of current season,
having been useless in the second division throughout the month of January.
