Just In: Official notification from Newcastle United: Jamie Miley’s permanent move has been approved

Jamie Miley left Newcastle United, according to an official release made Thursday afternoon.

The midfield player has agreed to a long-term transfer to Hartlepool United.

He was on loan at Newport County earlier this season.

Jamie Miley, a graduate of Newcastle United’s Academy, has joined Hartlepool United on a permanent basis.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who made six appearances in League Two during his loan stint at Newport County earlier this season, returns to the National League team.

Jamie received his first professional contract in 2022 after initially enrolling in Newcastle United’s academy at the age of 11. Under Eddie Howe, he earned consecutive preseason appearances for the first team, playing with his younger  brother Lewis at Gateshead in 2023 and starting last summer’s games against Girona and Hull City. “This is a great opportunity at the right time for Jamie, and I’m sure he’ll be a big success at Hartlepool,” stated Steve Harper, the academy director for Newcastle United.

“I want to express my gratitude to Jamie for his years of hard work and wish him the best of luck going forward.”
