JUST IN: Anxious last days of the window prompts the club to raise Everton’s bid in anticipation of a Friedkin special.
Torino’s decision to make a higher bid for the Everton striker seems to have been influenced by
AS Roma’s lingering interest in Beto.
As they give an update on Torino’s efforts for the Everton player, Tuttosport at least suggests that.
They claim that Everton is obstructing Beto’s plans to depart during this window and go back to Italy.
Since it looks like Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be out for a long time and won’t be able to
depart until replacements have been signed, Beto is now their only healthy striker.
The “great danger” for Torino is that Beto will end up at Roma because
they are still looking for a striker and, of course, the Friedkins own both Roma and Everton.
Their Italian counterparts have already raised their bid this week, but they are still far from what Everton wants,
and at this point in time, Beto will sign. Torino will still try to sign him and will make a last-ditch offer,
with varying figures on that. Yesterday, it was reported that Torino are offering
€6 million immediately and then an additional €12 million split into two later payments.
