Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville both agree on what the score will be for Newcastle United vs Fulham
Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville are in agreement over Newcastle United’s Premier League clash with Fulham on Saturday.
The Magpies got back to winning ways last weekend, as Newcastle beat Southampton 3-1 after being stunned by Bournemouth the week before.
It is the start of a massive month for Newcastle United, who have the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Arsenal just days later. Eddie Howe’s side can book their place at Wembley, but must focus on the Fulham contest for now.
It is a chance for redemption for Newcastle, having lost against Fulham earlier in the season. The Magpies were terrible at Craven Cottage, with Alan Shearer slamming Newcastle’s performance as they fell to a 3-1 defeat.
Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville predict Newcastle vs Fulham
There will hopefully not be repeat of that on Saturday, and Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney have told The Overlap YouTube channel that they think Eddie Howe will get revenge over Marco Silva.
Rooney: “I just can’t see Newcastle not winning.”
Neville: “Shall we go 3-1? 3-1.”
Afterwards, the combination of Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Jill Scott predicted a 2-0 win for the Magpies.
Newcastle United’s recent record against Fulham
Other than the defeat at Craven Cottage earlier this season, Newcastle United’s recent record against Fulham is actually very good.
Before that game, the Magpies had won their last six matches in all competitions against the Cottagers.
The last time Newcastle lost at St James’ Park to Fulham was in the Championship back in March 2017. They did the double over Newcastle that season, despite Rafa Benitez’s side going on to win the title and secure promption.
The last time Fulham did the double over Newcastle in the Premier League was the 2008/09 season. That campaign ended with the Magpies suffering relegation.
There is pretty much no chance of that happening this season, but Fulham do still have the opportunity to do the double. Hopefully that does not happen, as Newcastle aim to continue their impressive form ahead of their crucial cup clash with Arsenal.
