Stoke City expected starting XI versus Hull as Mark Robins evaluates up five fresh alternatives
According to Football League World, Bolton Wanderers is getting closer to hiring Steven Schumacher,
the former manager of Plymouth Argyle and Stoke City.
Following Bolton’s split with Ian Evatt last week, Schumacher’s hiring is now expected
to bring the Trotters’ hunt for a new permanent manager to a close.
Bolton’s season has been unsatisfactory as they have found it difficult to go on after losing to
Oxford United in the agonizing play-off final the previous season.
With two wins from their past two games, it will be hoped that Schumacher can continue the
momentum and propel Bolton into the play-off spots and beyond. Currently,
they are seventh in the league and outside the top six on goal differential.
The Liverpudlian, who has been unemployed since September following his
contentious departure from Stoke, has been connected to many Championship
openings in recent months, but he is now willing to return to League One.
Numerous names have been connected to the position at Bolton when Evatt left,
following the team’s 2-1 loss to Charlton Athletic, another promotion competitor.
