REVEALED: Leicester City Wages, the Foxes Player Earning the Big Bucks
What is the yearly salary of each Leicester player, and who gets the biggest payout?
Under Claudio Ranieri’s guidance, Leicester City achieved one of the greatest sporting achievements
in history during the 2015–16 season when they won the Premier League title. However, the Foxes
have struggled to even come close to replicating the highs of that historic campaign, and things have been on a downhill track ever since.
They did, in fact, win the FA Cup at the end of the 2020–21 season and finish fifth in the Premier
League standings in consecutive seasons, but after a terrible 2022–23 league campaign, they were demoted to the Championship.
Finishing at the top of the second division earned them automatic promotion right away, but they
now risk being demoted from the top flight once more.
Who is Leicester’s top earner this season, then? Furthermore, who is at the other extreme of the spectrum?
Goalkeepers
It is extremely uncommon for any top-tier club’s top two goalkeepers to not be the starting goalkeeper. In fact, neither Daniel Iversen nor Danny Ward, Leicester’s top two keepers in terms of salary, are certain starting at the King Power Stadium. Mads Hermansen, who has started in goal for most of the games, deserves the honour. He and Jakub Stolarczyk are Leicester’s two lowest-paid keepers.
Name and Pay
Danny Ward£2,080,000
Iversen, Daniel£1,040,000
£520,000 Mads Hermansen

Defenders
The team’s highest-paid defender is Portuguese right-back Ricardo Pereira, who has had injury problems recently. English centre-back Conor Coady comes in second.
The third-highest paid defender on the team is Jannik Vestergaard, a seasoned Denmark international. At the end of the previous season, the former Southampton centre-back extended his contract with Leicester through 2027.
23-year-old striker The defender with the lowest salary is Luke Thomas.

£1,300,000 for Victor Kristiansen

Midfielders
At £4.68 million a season, Harry Winks, the midfield staple for Leicester, is the highest paid player in his position.
Unexpectedly, the second-highest paid midfielder is Boubakary Soumare. Fans would have anticipated that Wilfred Ndidi, one of the Foxes’ few bright spots this season, would be ranked higher on this list than Soumare.
Along with Oliver Skipp, Hamza Choudhury of Bangladesh, a graduate of Leicester City’s development academy, is the team’s fourth-highest paid midfield player.
Curiously, despite personally contributing to 26% of Leicester’s Premier League goals this season, Argentine wonderkid Facundo Buonanotte receives a pitiful £1.3 million wage.
The team’s lowest-paid midfielder is 18-year-old Michael Golding.
NamePay
£4,680,000 for Harry Winks
Soumare Boubakary£4,160,000
Ndidi Wilfred £3,900,000
Choudhury Hamza £2,600,000

Attackers
Since club legend Jamie Vardy earns almost £7 million a season as Leicester’s highest earner, this
one should go without saying. In around 500 games, the 38-year-old has nearly 200 goals for the
team.
The unpopular Odsonne Edouard is the club’s second-highest paid attacker, and there are whispers
that Leicester is considering ending his loan deal immediately.
Despite having a bigger impact this season than someone like Jordan Ayew, Zambian attacker
Patson Daka is ranked third on this list.
However, at Leicester, Issahaku Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi are the two forwards with the lowest salaries, each making less than a million pounds.

Vardy, Jamie7,280,000 pounds
Edouard Odsonne£4,680,000
