Jesus’ quick ascent in Brazilian football has been connected to a move to the Premier League.

Jesus joined Botafogo in the summer after making an impression during a successful stint in the

UAE Pro League. He helped the team win the Copa Libertadores in 2024, which was the club’s first continental championship, and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.

The 23-year-old made his debut for Brazil in October, scoring a goal against Chile to honour the occasion. He had previously scored eight goals in 31 appearances for Botafogo. His talents have

drawn fans from Nottingham Forest and Arsenal in Europe.

Last week, Forest, who are anticipated to hire former Arsenal sporting director Edu, made a €30

million approach for Jesus, but the midfielder turned down the offer. Tim Vickery, a South American football analyst, told Sky Sports that he thinks Jesus would be more open to a call from Arsenal.

He wasn’t even well-known in his own country when he was in the United Arab Emirates at this time

last year. He was acquired by Botafogo on a free transfer in July, and by October, he was Brazil’s preferred centre forward.

He appears to be the whole thing. An extremely promising player, to be sure. We know that he personally turned down a reported 30 million euro offer from Nottingham Forest over the weekend.

“It appears that he declined Forest’s offer, but my main concern is whether he would decline Arsenal’s.

He appears to meet their needs because he is a versatile striker who can get into the channels and hold the ball up. He is also powerful, quick, and agile.
