Arsenal transfer target rejects Nottingham Forest move

Despite rival interest in the Botafogo attacker from Arsenal, Igor Jesus has turned down a €30

million transfer to Nottingham Forest.

Jesus’ quick ascent in Brazilian football has been connected to a move to the Premier League.

Jesus joined Botafogo in the summer after making an impression during a successful stint in the

UAE Pro League. He helped the team win the Copa Libertadores in 2024, which was the club’s first continental championship, and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.

million approach for Jesus, but the midfielder turned down the offer. Tim Vickery, a South American football analyst, told Sky Sports that he thinks Jesus would be more open to a call from Arsenal.

He wasn’t even well-known in his own country when he was in the United Arab Emirates at this time

last year. He was acquired by Botafogo on a free transfer in July, and by October, he was Brazil’s preferred centre forward.
