‘Sign him already’: Everton in contact to sign £16.8m versatile PL player
According to a report from The Star, Everton is very interested in signing Kyle Walker-Peters, a
defender for Southampton, during the January transfer window.
David Moyes, the manager of the Toffees, stated last week that he is certain Everton will acquire a
few players before the transfer season ends. There are rumours that The Friedkin Group will provide him with financial support to make these signings.
Walker-Peters has just six months left on his current contract at St Mary’s, and the Turkish media
site says Everton is still in communication to sign him.
Walker-Peters has stated that he would not sign a new contract with Southampton, which is more
likely to be relegated this season.
Galatasaray, a Turkish team, is eager to sign him and has offered £5 million for the former
Tottenham Hotspur defender.
Even if he is worth about £16.8 million, it is quite doubtful that Everton or any other team would
be prepared to pay more than ten million pounds to sign him.
This season, Young has made 19 appearances, starting 17 of them, demonstrating Everton’s lack of
depth at full-back.
They also need an upgrade at right-back. Due to Seamus Coleman’s form and fitness issues, the
Toffees need to find a new player.
Although Nathan Patterson is still a possibility, Moyes ultimately needs another seasoned full-back.
