BREAKING NEWS: Ianis Hagi ‘could depart Rangers at once’ due to overseas development.
According to Italian journalist Fabio Marsiglia, who spoke exclusively with Ibrox News, Genoa is eager to sign Rangers star Ianis Hagi “immediately.”
Marsiglia, a writer for CalcioGenoa with insider knowledge of the Serie A team, noted that the 26-year-old would be a “gift” for manager Patrick Vieira, and that the club aims to finalize the signing before the winter transfer window closes.
The Romanian has expressed to his representatives his wish to go back to Italy, while Marsiglia explains to Ibrox News how Genoa will try to settle the transfer saga.
“Hagi represents more than just a goal for Genoa; he embodies the ambitions of new president Dan Sucu, who had aimed to recruit him for Rapid Bucharest in recent months. However, understanding Hagi’s wish to return to Italy, Sucu now seeks to have him at Genoa, where he has recently become the majority shareholder.
Rangers expect a Genoa offer for Ianis Hagi
The Gers have presented Hagi with a new contract proposal [David Edgar], but it probably won’t affect the Romanian’s plans.
Despite his recent rise to prominence under Philippe Clement, the longstanding history of mistreatment from the Ibrox outfit is finally encountering consequences.
Considering the grim situation in the Scottish Premiership and the increasing uncertainty surrounding Glasgow’s blue side, it would not be unexpected if Hagi no longer desires to battle for his position.
Genoa have under a week to finalize the transfer and should be financially capable of providing the Light Blues with a substantial fee for a player who will be free at season’s end. Considering this, Nils Koppen should aim to negotiate a deal immediately if it becomes clear that Hagi does not see himself at Ibrox in the long term. In other Rangers news, the Gers are preparing as Jefte’s agent offers a “shock reveal” following Chelsea’s inquiry.
