As Swansea City’s valuation is revealed, Coventry City makes their third attempt to acquire Matt Grimes.
Coventry City has made a third attempt to acquire Matt Grimes,
the captain of Swansea City.
Swansea is thought to value the midfield player at about £4 million,
and the Sky Blues have already made two unsuccessful bids for him.
Although it’s unclear if the Swans have accepted the bid,
it appears very likely that the player will now end his ten-year career with the team.
According to sources, Coventry’s second bid was turned down because of a
disagreement over the terms of the sale, even though it essentially matched Swansea’s valuation.

However, such differences aren’t thought to be an impassable obstacle to a
deal being completed, and a consensus between the two sides is anticipated in the days ahead.
However, the fact that Swansea is coincidentally hosting the Sky Blues on
Saturday could complicate things further, and an agreement might not be
reached until after the game is over. Grimes is already among Swansea’s highest paid players,
but if the move goes through, he could receive a significant salary increase.
Coventry is reportedly willing to pay him between £30,000 and £35,000 per week.
