Throughout the winter transfer window, Palmeiras has been after Andreas Pereira of Fulham, but the Premier League team has so far refused to back down.

ESPN reported four days ago that Leonardo Holanda, the legal manager for Palmeiras, will make a last-ditch effort to sign the midfield player while on a trip to England.

Leila Pereira, the president of UOL state Palmeiras, has “thrown in the towel” on pursuing the Fulham player.

She disclosed that Palmeiras is unlikely to sign the 29-year-old because the talks with Marco Silva’s team did not go forward.

The president is no longer hopeful of landing the former Manchester United player, but he hasn’t ruled out a deal either.

“We’re holding out. I think they were great hires, and we’ll make do with what we have. We are still working with the items we have previously contracted for and with things that are feasible. As of right moment, there is no news,” Leila Pereira clarified.

Brazilian journalist André Hernan claimed that Palmeiras’ chances of obtaining Andreas’ services are “diminishing” on X, formerly known as Twitter. He is basing this on what the president said.

The midfielder’s contract lasts until 2026, with an option for another year, but the Premier League side want to grant him an extension. Hernan believes Fulham have made the first renewal offer,
