Report: Why Leicester City star’s imminent departure has been delayed

Leicester City are expected to confirm the departure of another first-team star in the coming days.

It’s been a up-and-down month in the transfer window for the Foxes, who have confirmed just one signing so far.

Woyo Coulibaly arrived and made his debut in Leicester’s win against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

There have been outgoings though as Tom Cannon completed his move to Sheffield United and interest in others too like Luke Thomas, who has been linked with Hoffenheim.

Another player is closing in on a departure from the King Power Stadium, but there has been a hold up in the move.

Sheffield United transfer news: Hamza Choudhury expected to complete loan move after delay

Sheffield United have been linked with several Leicester players this transfer window and the latest one of those is midfielder Hamza Choudhury.

Ruud van Nistelrooy confirmed Choudhury would leave the club after details of the deal emerged.

Choudhury will join the Blades on loan, with his full salary paid by the Championship club.

It’s a deal that’s been expected to go through for some time now but there had been a brief stumbling block between the two clubs.

According to the Sheffield Star, the delay in completing the deal is down to Leicester’s insistence on including an obligation to buy in the loan move.

However, the Blades were only comfortable with an option to buy on the chance they don’t secure a return to the Premier League at the first attempt.

But, those issues have seemingly been ironed out and the final details remain before the midfielder moves on.

Ruud van Nistelrooy wants to sign players in four positions

Transfers have been a big topic for the Foxes and Van Nistelrooy in particular.

Van Nistelrooy wants players in four positions this window but so far has only got one in Coulibaly.

A left-sided centre-back, left winger and a forward are on the agenda for the 48-year-old but links are few and far between.

Strahinja Pavlovic has been on the Foxes’ radar but Pavlovic wants to stay at AC Milan and fight for his place following the appointment of Sergio Conceicao.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer feel Leicester are over reliant on Jamie Vardy but forward seems a particularly difficult area of a pitch to recruit in.
