Derby County has managed to capture the star defender from Real Sociedad on a season-long loan. No buyout clause.
Derby County have completed the signing of La liga star Gomez also Lars-Jorgen Salvesen, a striker from Norway, has officially joined Derby County.
The 28-year-old signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Pride Park Stadium after joining from Viking FK for an undisclosed price.
A Profile of Lars-Jørgen Salvesen
Born in Kristiansand, Norway, Salvesen started his career with FK Vigør in 2013. After a brief but successful stint in the third level, he was transferred to IK Start in the top division the following year.
Before moving to Sarpsborg 08 in 2019 and Ullensaker/Kisa IL in 2018, the center-forward played for the team for four years.
After that, he settled in Strømsgodset, where he made an impact over a four-season period from 2019 to 2022, totaling 62 games across all competitions with 24 goals and 11 assists.
Regulars of European competitions FK Bodø/Glimt took notice of his play, and in August 2022, Salvesen made his continental debut by scoring a goal against FK Žalgiris Vilnius in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
Subsequent appearances included home and away games against Arsenal in October 2022 in the Conference League and Europa League.
After joining Viking in March 2023, he went on to collect eight assists and score 29 goals in 65 games, helping the team earn back-to-back top-four finishes for the first time since 2002.
After two years away from European football, Salvesen and Viking secured third place in 2024, following a fourth-place finish in 2023.
Along with playing for clubs, Salvesen has earned three Under-19 caps for Norway.
The successful application for a visa and the receipt of international clearance are prerequisites for this transfer.
