Middlesbrough chasing £5m deal for 15-goal striker
Reporter Alan Nixon stated on his Patreon that Middlesbrough is pursuing a £5 million deal for
Slovan Bratislava talisman David Strelec.
This month, Middlesbrough wants to make some bold changes to bolster their promotion push.
Despite losing to Preston North End 2-1 on Saturday, Boro is currently ranked sixth in the Championship standings.
The inconsistency displayed by Michael Carrick’s team is concerning because, on their best days,
they could rank among the league’s most dangerous teams.
As a result, they’re not sitting back and, even though they’ve already made a few notable additions,
more are in the works.
Reporter Alan Nixon claims in a post on his Patreon that Middlesbrough is aiming to sign 23–
year-old star David Strelec. The Slovakian is now playing for his home team, Slovan Bratislava,
as a striker. This season, he is putting himself to the test against Champions League opponents.
Strelec would reportedly “jump” at the chance to join Boro in Teesside, and a £5 million move is reportedly being pursued. He is awaiting the finalisation of an agreement before he hopes to go
to England.
Although Strelec’s contract is set to expire in 2028, Middlesbrough may be interested in signing
him this summer.
