JUST NOW: Ruben Selles gives a transfer report for Hull City while the Tigers hold onto hope for Sorba Thomas, and he still expects to add two more players before the…….ends a week tomorrow.

Ruben Selles intends to capitalize on Friday night’s incredible 3-0 victory at

Sheffield United by adding two more players before the transfer window closes a week tomorrow.

Many of City’s recent additions contributed at Bramall Lane, including Kyle Joseph,

who put up a strong front-row effort, and Matt Crooks, who scored his first goal on his full debut.

Early in the second half, Eliot Matazo replaced Crooks on the bench and put up a strong showing.

Joe Gelhardt showed a different side to his game, battling hard and having a hand in the opening goal,

with Selles pleased about the impact of the new arrivals.

New signing Lincoln wasn’t involved at Bramall Lane after only having a couple of

training sessions following his loan move from Fenerbahce, but is expected to be in the

squad against Stoke City on Saturday in a crunch must-win MKM Stadium meeting.

City remain desperate to add a left-back to their squad after sanctioning the departure of

Ryan Giles to Middlesbrough. Although Sean McLoughlin has impressed in that position and

Matty Jacob came on and scored in Sheffield, Selles wants extra cover in that area.

They remain positive about the chances of signing Charlie Taylor from Southampton.

Further forward, Louie Barry remains a target as does Sorba Thomas. City still hope to sign

Thomas and it’s understood that he could be left out of the Nantes squad to face Lyon on

Sunday afternoon with progress having been made with the French club in the past 48 hours.

Selles remains hopeful those two deals can be finalised.

“I will be glad if we’ve got everything that we want when the window is closed,” the Spaniard said.

“I think the club is making a good effort. Jared and his team are working really hard to get the

players and the profiles that we want and I think that we are going in the correct direction.

It’s going to be different (when the window is closed), but when the window is closed, you can fully focus on the games.”
