JUST IN: ‘New’ kick-off time for Aston Villa vs West Ham, TV channel, prediction, team news, lineups, scores, odds, referee, and VAR.
Aston Villa host West Ham United for the second time this January,
with the two claret and blue foes doing battle in the Premier League on Sunday.
The sides locked horns during the FA Cup third round in what was
Graham Potter’s first match in charge of West Ham, but the former
Chelsea coach was unsuccessful on his debut at Villa Park as the
Irons fell to a 2-1 defeat. They will be seeking revenge this weekend.
West Ham will need to be at their best to escape the Midlands without defeat,
meaning significant improvements are needed from last weekend’s limp loss at home to
Crystal Palace. Injuries in the forward line have made for an unwanted challenge at the
beginning of Potter’s reign and he will be hopeful of winter reinforcements.
Despite their uncharacteristically lethargic defeat to Monaco in the
Champions League midweek, Villa have started the new year in impressive form.
They won their first three fixtures of 2025 before producing a two-goal comeback at
Arsenal last weekend to salvage a precious point.

Aston Villa team news
Amadou Onana is a doubt to feature this weekend after suffering a
hamstring injury last weekend during the draw with Arsenal.
The midfielder lasted just 37 minutes before being replaced and may subsequently be unavailable for West Ham’s visit.
Fellow midfielder Ross Barkley is absent for Villa but John McGinn is
closing in on a return following a hamstring injury of his own.
The Scotland international could still miss out this weekend, however.
Pau Torres is still in the treatment room and Diego Carlos’ departure means that
Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings will be asked to line up at centre-back once again.
