League One Birmingham City are reportedly ‘known admirers’ of former Premier League and Blues player Nathan Redmond.

Birmingham City have been quiet this transfer window compared to their spending in the summer. But are still in the market for quality additions if opportunities arise.

Nathan Redmond has had to settle for a spot on the sidelines for the first half of the season after suffering an injury. But with his recovery nearing completion, he could be ready to make a move.

Currently contracted to Burnley, the talented winger is attracting interest from a host of clubs including Birmingham City, according to journalist Darren Witcoop.

He shared the following update on X:

Burnley winger Nathan Redmond on the radar of a number of clubs. Redmond is close to full fitness after an injury hit first half of the season. Birmingham are known admirers of their former player. “

Redmond Looking to Get Back on His Feet

Redmond started his career at boyhood club Birmingham City in 2010 and has gone on to enjoy an impressive season, including over 200 Premier League appearances.

His career includes spells at Norwich City, Besiktas and Southampton before linking up with Burnley in 2023. He also has one senior England cap from 2017.

His spell with the Clarets has not gone well, only appearing 15 times for a total of 300 minutes of football. Although this has been due to injuries, it would not be unreasonable of the Championship side to be prepared to let him go.

For Birmingham City his recent injury history will be a concern, but they have the strength in depth to take their time and utilise him in the right way. At just 30 years old, he has potentially a few years left playing if his injuries hold off. Redmond’s experience of the top flight, his affinity for the club and his talent could be a match made in heaven, so long as he stays fit.
