As a dejected Aston Villa player is substituted off against West Ham, Tyrone Mings breaks down in tears.
Tyrone Mings, the captain of Aston Villa, broke down in tears and needed to be
comforted by the team’s medical staff after being sent off against West Ham on Sunday.
The 31-year-old defenseman had only recently recovered from a serious knee
injury after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) for the second time in August 2023,
and there will be legitimate worries about the center-back suffering a potential
recurrence after finding it difficult to leave the field in the first half.
However, he indicated to the bench that he was unable to continue
while extending for the ball minutes later.
The England player was extremely upset as he walked off the field at Villa Park,
wiping away his tears with his head hidden under his shirt.
He may have suffered a significant injury, as evidenced by the fact that another
staff member had to comfort him on his approach to the dressing room.
