Eddie Howe has stated that Newcastle United is losing ‘targets’ to rival clubs after Abdukodir Khusanov joined Manchester City.

Howe, mindful of staleness, has always aimed to bring in at least one new signing each window to improve the group and increase competition for spots, and Khusanov was a guy Newcastle clearly loved. In truth, Khusanov’s

representative, Gairat Khasbiullin, revealed Newcastle were’very close to a contract’, but ‘Financial Fair Play played a factor’.
