DONE DEAL: Sheffield United sign Leicester City’s former Watford midfielder
According to reports, Sheffield United is getting closer to signing Hamza Choudhury from Leicester
City.
Choudhury was reportedly a top target for the Blades as they sought to strengthen their midfield
ranks early in the transfer window.
However, as the transfer window draws closer to its conclusion, the 27-year-old is still listed at King Power Stadium.
Football League World claims that Sheffield United is still interested in the former Watford loanee.
A loan agreement that lasts until the end of the season is reportedly in the cards, and the club is reportedly making good headway in their attempts to sign him.
Choudhury, who played for Blades manager Chris Wilder during his brief tenure as Watford’s
manager, is already acquainted with the player.
He is not the only midfield player, though, who has reportedly attracted Sheffield United’s notice.
Tommy Doyle of Wolves, who played on loan at Bramall Lane during the 2022–2023 season from Manchester City, has also been connected to the Blades.
Shea Charles, a Northern Ireland international, was also mentioned as a possible choice after Southampton called him back from a loan at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls and Saints have struck a new loan arrangement, which is why the 21-year-old has returned
to the Steel City.
