As Aston Villa prepares a last-minute move, Emery finds the top target in a £25 million forward.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has personally earmarked a highly-rated forward as one of his top targets for the end of the January window, with NSWE responding by planning a late move for him.

Aston Villa open to making another January signing

Speaking ahead of Villa’s clash against West Ham United on Sunday, Emery hinted at the possibility of his side making another January addition, especially considering Diego Carlos has now sealed a move to Turkish Süper Lig side Fenerbache.

Donyell Malen has already joined Villa in a £21 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund, and Andres Garcia will follow shortly after the Netherlands international inked a contract to go from Levante to the Midlands.

However, Emery confirmed on Friday that Carlos’ departure and any other possible outgoings might compel Villa to enter the January market again.

“We are open to trying to improve the squad until the last moment, and as well, we are open in case someone is leaving,” Emery stated.

“Obviously, Diego Carlos left in the last week, so we need to find a replacement. Naturally, we are also looking at players who might be able to take his place.”

According to some sources, Villa is prepared to make a second January proposal for Sevilla defender Loic Bade after rumors circulated that they had a prior offer turned down and had been in negotiations all month.
