When Leeds was in the Championship, they signed Augustin on loan with the condition that they would have to buy him if they were promoted. They were promoted, but not until June—apparently past the date for fulfilling that obligation—due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They attempted to avoid paying the transfer fee, but Leeds lost this case when it went to court.
For a guy that played 48 minutes for them, they ultimately had to pay £40 million. Big yikes.
