In the race to acquire Sunderland AFC captain Dan Neil, West Ham has joined Everton.

West Ham United have joined the competition to capture Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil this month.

This is according to talkSPORT writer Alex Crook, who reckons the Irons might potentially make a move for the 23-year-old, who has impressed in recent seasons at the Stadium of Light.

Despite the fact that the Black Cats have a relatively young team and that has helped them succeed on the field, teams are sure to show interest in some of its finest players, thus they could also suffer as a result of their success.

At just 23, Neil has already made more than 150 appearances for the club’s first team over the course of many years, making him a fairly seasoned player.

Neil made frequent appearances even in League One at a relatively young age, which helped him grow into the player he is now—a starter and captain of a Championship team vying for promotion.

Additionally, he should only improve with more experience given his age, and Regis Le Bris‘ coaching will probably help him step up his game.

However, given that Neil is reportedly drawing interest from a few Premier League teams, it is unclear how long he will stay at the Stadium of Light.
