according to the Met Office’s unusual red weather warning.
Two teams vying for promotion would have faced off in the Vitality Stadium match,
which was broadcast live on Sky Sports.
“Structural engineers have inspected the stadium and have confirmed that the d
amage could pose a significant risk to supporters’ safety,” said a statement published at 4 p.m.
on Friday afternoon on the club’s official website.
“Due to the storm’s continuing effects, the damage cannot be fixed in time for the
Friday fixture or at a rescheduled time on Saturday.
“An updated date for the match will be revealed soon. All fans will receive a refund if they
are unable to attend the new match, but all tickets purchased will still be valid for the
rescheduled match. Forest is now two points out of the playoffs, while Bournemouth is in
second place in the Championship, four points ahead of third-place Blackburn and six points behind leaders Fulham.
