Rangers turned down chance to sign ex-Man Utd star who was ‘fastest in Premier League’

Leverkusen in the summer and still on the lookout for a club.
Swansea was one of several clubs that received a free transfer bid for the 27-year-old, according to Wales Online.
The other Championship teams are Middlesbrough, Queens Park Rangers, and Stoke City. Blackburn Rovers has reportedly declined because of doubts about his fitness.

According to reports, Fosu-Mensah has been working out with Ajax to maintain his fitness levels, and if he does well enough, he may be able to land a contract there.
His issues stem from his time at Manchester United, when a knee ligament issue forced him to end a loan at Fulham.
His first season was cut short after he signed for Leverkusen due to the same issue, and he missed the next year due to a hamstring injury.
Due to a knee injury and other fitness concerns, Fosu-Mensah missed the entire previous season and only appeared in 23 Bundesliga games over four seasons.
Given the current injury situation at Ibrox, it is understandable why there would be reservations about signing him.

The Dutchman played a handful of games over his time and Man United and could cover right-back, centre-back and holding midfield.
However, the Express claimed that he was the fastest player in the Premier League while he was on loan at Fulham.
While playing for the Cottagers, Fosu-Mensah recorded an amazing speed of 35.32 km/h before an injury ended his season.
He was ahead of players like Mo Salah of Liverpool and Kyle Walker of Manchester City.
