TRANSFER UPDATE: Derby County receive Premier League ‘bid’ for star man
According to reports, Derby County has received an offer for important defender Eiran Cashin.
The Seagulls have reportedly made a bid for the defender, who has become a vital member of
Paul Warne’s squad as they struggle to remain in the Championship, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Although neither the amount nor the outcome of the proposal are disclosed, Brighton has
previously expressed interest in Cashin. Just eighteen months ago, when the Rams were getting
ready to earn promotion from League One at the first attempt, they made an attempt to entice him
to leave the team.
The academy product stayed to help the team return to the second division because the move never happened. This season, he has worked to keep them there. He recently rejoined the Rams after missing five games due to a hamstring injury, and he has started 20 of the team’s 27 league games.
What Warne has accomplished at Derby has been built on his cooperation with Curtis Nelson, but Cashin is even more crucial now that Nelson is sidelined for the season. Whether Derby can be persuaded to negotiate for a player who signed a deal that expires in 2027 just a year ago is still up in
the air.
