Manager Unai Emery acknowledged that the team was open to loaning out the 28-year-old for the rest of the season,

thus it is likely that the Argentine playmaker will depart Villa Park during the next two weeks.

After recovering from a severe knee injury that prevented him from playing the full 2023–24 season,

Buendia has struggled for minutes. Leeds, who had expressed interest in the player after a previous summer window approach,

is among the clubs who have been informed of the two-time Championship winner’s availability.

In an attempt to impress Emery and the Villa leadership, Buendia chose to remain where he was instead of rejoining Daniel Farke, with whom he won two championships at Norwich City, six months ago. Buendia is thought to be amenable to a loan transfer, but he has failed to persuade them that he deserves more engagement despite his best attempts.
