Leeds’ “explosive” star is more valuable than Louie Barry, so they’ve struck gold.
There are still a few weeks left in the January transfer window,
and Leeds United has not yet made its signing of the month.
After defeating Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at Elland Road last time out,
Daniel Farke’s team is currently atop the Championship table and may not be in dire need of additions.
Aston Villa forward Louie Barry, who spent the first half of the season on loan
with Stockport County in League One, has been linked to the
Whites this month despite their dominant second-tier standing.
Barry’s current Transfermarkt price of €1.8 million (£1.5 million) may be
due to the fact that the young player has not yet established himself in either
of England’s top two divisions. Before making an impression in League One this season,
the 21-year-old sensation was playing on loan in League Two with Stockport in the
second half of the 2023–24 season, scoring nine goals in 17 games.
Before being called up by Villa this month, he scored an impressive 15 goals in
23 games in the English football third division during the first half of the season.
However, Barry has not yet established himself at the Championship level,
so Leeds would be taking a chance by trying to sign him at Elland Road because he might not be able to step up.
Alternatively, Farke and Leeds might concentrate on Largie Ramazani,
a left winger who has shown promise in the second division, and try to develop him over the next few months.
