Brian Schottenheimer’s finally Decleared As the Cowboys new coach
The Dallas Cowboys’ head coaching search is taking on new complexities every day.
Last week, speculation about Deion Sanders‘ interest erupted before genuine contenders like Kellen Moore and Robert Saleh emerged from the pack.
As of Monday, Sanders has not yet been interviewed, but Brian Schottenheimer suddenly gained traction.
The incumbent offensive coordinator, who was under the fired head coach Mike McCarthy,
has swiftly risen to the front of the queue among candidates.
And it appears that a definitive response of some kind may be on the horizon.
In what way? Schottenheimer may soon receive a job offer from the Cowboys as they immerse themselves in the process.
“hearing an offer could be coming soon for Brian Schottenheimer,” writes Cowboys radio host Shan Shariff of flagship station 105.3 The Fan.
Schottenheimer, 51, has been the offensive coordinator for the Cowboys for the last two seasons.
Under mentor McCarthy, he began working as a coaching analyst for Dallas in 2022.
Brian Schottenheimer, the son of Marty Schottenheimer, has a long history as an assistant coach but
has never held the position of head coach.
In 2001, he was hired by his father as a quarterback coach in Washington for his first NFL position.
He has since served seven organisations as a quarterback coach or coordinator.
In addition, he worked for Pete Carroll for three seasons from 2018 to 2020, leading the Seattle Seahawks offence.
Now that the franchise has chosen a new leader to oversee the team, this is undoubtedly a significant decision.
Is Schotty that leader? Or simply possible part of the solution? Is this about continuing to guide QB Dak Prescott?
Or about much, much more?
