Exclusive: Wycombe Wanderers are on the verge of securing a deal for Rangers’ Alex Lowry.
Wycombe Wanderers are nearing an agreement to sign Alex Lowry from Rangers on a permanent transfer, sources have informed Football Insider.
The 21-year-old Alex Lowry is set to leave Rangers as his contract expires in the summer, making this January transfer window the final opportunity for Rangers to sell the midfielder. Lowry has only played three times for the first team, all in the Scottish Challenge Cup, but impressed by scoring twice in those matches. With 14 appearances for Rangers and a loan spell at Hearts to further his development, Lowry is now being eyed by Wycombe Wanderers, who are offering him more playing time as they push for promotion to the Championship.
Wycombe, currently second in League One and only two points behind Birmingham City, are looking to strengthen their squad. The club is without a permanent manager after Matt Bloomfield’s move to Luton Town, with Sam Grace overseeing the team on an interim basis. Wycombe will face Northampton Town on Saturday, January 25.
