DONE DEAL: Birmingham land “heroic” Sanderson upgrade
Although Birmingham City has occasionally discovered this season that League One isn’t
always
easy, as evidenced by their shocking loss to Shrewsbury Town in late November, the Blues do
appear to be headed for an instant return to the Championship.
Chris Davies will only hope his team continues to win away from any defeats creeping in, as this
could make clashes more tense near the end of the 46-game marathon. The team is currently
sitting comfortably near the top of the division, and recent big wins, like the 3-0 victory at Wigan Athletic, have shown off their class.
Dion Sanderson, the former captain of the Blues, has been loaned to Blackburn Rovers and will not
play any more during the remaining games of the regular League One season.
How Darling compares to Sanderson
Journalist Darren Witcoop revealed earlier this month through his X account that Birmingham
is interested in Swansea City star Harry Darling in January, as his current contract in Wales
expires this summer.
The Blues are eager to add Darling to their star-studded squad in the future, along with
Championship team Bristol City, so Luke Williams may soon have no option but to cash in on
his 25-year-old ace.
