The Premier League plans to proceed with its match calendar “where safely possible” despite the postponement of Manchester United vs. Brighton.
After a coronavirus outbreak among United’s players and backroom personnel,
the Premier League decided to cancel the game on “guidance from medical advisors.”
The club’s Carrington base has also paused training operations for “a short period” in an
effort to lessen the possibility of more transmissions.
Manchester United can confirm that their Premier League match against Brighton,
which was originally set for Saturday, December 18, at 12:30, has been postponed.
A new date will be announced soon.
“Our top goal is the players’ and staff’s health.
The Club’s only choice was to ask for the match to be rescheduled
because so many players and support personnel had to isolate themselves because of COVID-19.
Following the advice of medical advisors, the Premier League Board decided to postpone.
