Stanley Mills returned to action for Everton U21s after recovering from a lengthy injury setback.

Everton youngster Stanley Mills made his long-awaited return from injury after nearly a year on the sidelines.

The 21-year-old suffered a serious knee injury while on loan at Oxford United last season, cutting short a promising spell in League One. Before his setback in an FA Cup tie against Coventry City on January 6, 2024, Mills had made six appearances and scored once, playing a key role in Oxford’s successful push for Championship promotion. Unfortunately, the injury ended his campaign early, denying him further involvement in their promotion journey.

Now back in action, Mills will be focused on regaining his fitness and sharpness. He has previously made two senior appearances for Everton, both in the Carabao Cup under former manager Frank Lampard.

After Mills’ debut in a 1-0 win over Fleetwood in August 2022, Lampard praised his work ethic and potential, saying:

“Stanley has been doing really well—scoring regularly, developing, and showing great attitude. He’s a strong runner, has an eye for goal, and is a talented player. If he keeps progressing, he can become a real attacking option.”

Now fully recovered, Mills will be eager to make his mark once again.
