DEAL SEALED: West Ham signs Awoniyi, but who will Nottingham Forest’s sign to fill the void?

According to Soccernet.ng, Nottingham Forest, a top team in the English Premier League, is considering Yoanne Wissa, a Congolese striker, as a potential replacement for Taiwo Awoniyi of the Super Eagles should he decide to depart for West Ham.

Following his loss to New Zealand striker Chris Wood for the starting shirt at Nottingham Forest, Awoniyi’s future has been under scrutiny in recent months.

Since joining the Tricky Trees three seasons ago, the Nigerian striker has suffered from injuries,

which has allowed Wood to fill his place.

This season, Awoniyi has only made 16 Premier League games, although only two of those were

starts.

During a 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers this month, the 27-year-old striker scored

his first goal of the year.

West Ham, a Premier League team, has surfaced as a potential destination since it is looking for

a prolific goal scorer to help it recover from a dismal start to the season.

If Nottingham Forest receives a good offer, it seems inclined to let the Nigerian striker go.

In case Awoniyi goes, the Tricky Trees are also relocating to find a replacement.

To give their attack more bite, the team wants to sign Brentford’s Wissa, a Congolese striker,

according to Forest Transfer Hub.

With 11 goals and two assists this season, Wissa has been a major contributor for Brentford in

the Premier League.
