Sheffield Wednesday casting eyes over player recently wanted by Southampton and Fulham
Sheffield Wednesday are weighing up an offer for former Southampton and Fulham target Freddy Jeffreys.
This is according to The Star, who exclusively revealed that the 19-year-old is on trial with the club ahead of a potential move.
The young midfielder had come through the ranks at Bradford City, but Wednesday’s potential offer could give him the chance to make the jump to the Championship.
The Owls are currently sitting in 10th in the second tier after three wins in their past six games put them in sight of the play-off places.

---|---|---|---|---|
Position | Club | P | GD | Pts |
6th | Middlesbrough | 26 | 11 | 41 |
7th | West Brom | 26 | 11 | 40 |
8th | Watford | 26 | -1 | 38 |
9th | Bristol City | 26 | 3 | 37 |
10th | Sheffield Wednesday | 26 | -2 | 37 |
11th | Norwich City | 26 | 6 | 36 |
However, they seemingly haven’t capitalised on this in January with the blue and white side of the Steel City still yet to confirm any arrivals.
While Jeffreys wouldn’t be counted as a typical winter window addition, he could be a bright spark for the future and snapping a player up previously targeted by category one academies would be no mean feat.
