Can Woyo Coulibaly lift Leicester after another tough week?
A new signer The manager of Leicester City, Ruud van Nistelrooy, has hinted that Woyo Coulibaly
has been signed as “cover,” therefore he might not be thrust into the starting lineup this weekend.
The French right-back left Parma on Wednesday night for a four-and-a-half-year contract for
almost £3 million. He watched City lose to Crystal Palace 2-0 at the King Power Stadium, their
sixth consecutive Premier League loss.
With only one clean sheet in 21 games this season and the second-highest number of goals given
up, City is in dire need of better defensive performances. But it’s not certain that Coulibaly will
come straight in to replace James Justin against Fulham.
“We need some cover in the backline,” van Nistelrooy responded when asked what Coulibaly might contribute to City. Due to Ricardo Pereira’s long-term injury, we were shorthanded at right-back.
“There, we required staff to come and assist us. He’s a great addition to our team. strong, powerful player with excellent footwork. He will bring certain attributes to our team.
Enzo Maresca, a former City manager and van Nistelrooy’s teammate at Malaga, signed the 25-year-old full-back to Parma. According to the current City manager, he has been contacting people to learn more about Coulibaly.
