JUST IN: ‘New’ kick-off time for Leicester City vs Fulham, TV channel, prediction, team news, lineups, odds, scores, referee, and VAR.
If Leicester City want to avoid an instant return to the EFL Championship,
they need to start finding a way to win home Premier League games against the likes of Fulham.
The Foxes remain odds-on second favourites for the drop behind doomed Southampton,
with Wedenesday’s dismal 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace bringing up a full house of tips for me.
The arrival of Ruud van Nistelrooy as boss gave them a bit of a lift but the
Dutchman has now gone seven games without a Premier League win and that’s relegation form.
Leicester still haven’t been cut adrift though and if they can string a few victories together it
could provide the platform for an escape act. But beating Fulham won’t be easy as
Marco Silva has been given time to mould an impressive squad with plenty of quality in every area.
Their nine-game unbeaten run ended at West Ham on Tuesday, with two bets landing for me,
but the Cottagers were the better side by all accounts. So Silva will be confident of
getting back on track with a win at the King Power Stadium.
How the bookies view it: Ful speed ahead
With Leicester struggling of late, it’s easy to see why BoyleSports make them 11/4 outsiders for this one. Fulham are odds-on favourites at 10/11 while the draw pays 5/2.
Recent head to head: Foxes lacking bite
Fulham have dominated this fixture in recent years, winning four of the last five meetings. The Cottagers edged a 1-0 victory on their last trip to the King Power in 2023 and claimed a 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage in the first meeting this season.
Players to watch: Facundo’s flying
Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte has impressed for Leicester City this season, with the winger scoring five times already. He’s 7/2 at BoyleSports for another goal while Bet365 price him at 13/8 to either score or assist.
Silva has been rotating his strikers in recent games so it’s best going for a midfielder when picking a Fulham scorer. Emile Smith-Rowe has gone nine games without a scoring so he might be due a goal and BoyleSport price him at 3/1. The playmaker is also 11/2 for an assist with Bet365.
Probable line-ups
Jannik Vestegaard is fit again for Leicester but Abdul Fatawu, Wilfried Ndidi, Mads Hermansen and Ricardo Pereira remain sidelined with injuries.
Fulham look set to be without Reiss Nelson, Kenny Tete and Sander Berge again.
Leicester City: Stolarczyk, Justin, Coady, Vestergaard, Kristiansen, Winks, Mavididi, El Khannouss, Buonanotte, Soumare, Vardy.
Fulham: Leno, Bassey, Andersen, Castagne, Robinson, Traore, Iwobi, Pereira, Lukic, Smith-Rowe, Muniz.
Anything else catch the eye?
Although Leicester City have home advantage, they’re an inferior team to this slick Fulham side so I fancy the away win. To get into odds-against territory, combining a Cottagers victory with over 1.5 goals pays 5/4 in a BoyleSports bet builder.
The Foxes have drawn blanks in their last three home Premier League games but they’ve scored in every other outing at the King Power this season, including six in the FA Cup against QPR last weekend.
That makes me think we will see action at both ends in this one and combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays evens with BoyleSports. Boubakary Soumare has been good value for cards this season, racking up eight yellows, and the Foxes midfielder is 21/10 at Bet365 to go in the book again.
