Crystal Palace’s match against West Ham United has been rescheduled for broadcast.
The winger was pulled off the pitch halfway through his team’s FA Cup loss to
Aston Villa and did not appear in the squad when the Hammers defeated
Fulham on Tuesday (14 January).Potter’s side hosts Crystal Palace on Saturday (18 January),
and the manager will be trying to keep as many players healthy as possible as
he attempts to build on the momentum of his first win.
However, in his pre-match press conference [via The Athletic’s Roshane Thomas,
16 January], Potter said it might be too soon for Summerville.
“We’re still waiting on Crysencio Summerville and will have to make a late decision,”
Potter informed the crowd. “Saturday’s game could be too soon for him.”
It hasn’t been an easy situation to come into, with Niclas Fullkrug,
Jarrod Bowen, and Michail Antonio all out due to injury, leaving the Irons weak at the top of the pitch.
Nonetheless, Carlos Soler, Tomas Soucek, and Lucas Paqueta shown against Fulham that goals can come from wherever in this Hammers team, and the manager will be hoping to continue to motivate his other players to deliver.Summerville has one goal and one assist in 19 top-flight appearances this season, and he will undoubtedly be frustrated with his return.However, the 23-year-old could thrive under his new leadership.
