Celtic’s match against Rangers has been postponed due to…

There is no doubt that the SPFL is under intense scrutiny regarding how the

Rangers-Celtic encounter next month will be handled. That is,

how will the governing body handle the rescheduled Dundee Rangers match.

It’s a significant issue, sort of, given that the Split is approaching and there’s a title on the line,

easily the most competitive title fight in years.

The difficulty is that neither Old Firm side wants to have a game in hand after that encounter,

so it’s best to finish it before the Ibrox crunch match on April 7th.

It’s preferable to reset all fixtures and be even going into the Govan match.

But that will not be doable.

The only date without international football, fixture clashes, or Champions League TV clashes is April 3rd, which is four days before Rangers Celtic.

That is not what Rangers want; a fresh week of preparation before the title showdown is ideal, especially when Celtic also have one.

This suggests it must be the week following the Old Firm.

It’s a big pain, all because of Dundee’s disgusting behavior, which resulted in a match having to be postponed because the Dee believed the regulations didn’t apply to them and that they could easily have the match at 3 p.m. that day instead.

Logically, yes, but it was planned for Sky Sports, and their schedule was already full that afternoon with other live coverage, so they couldn’t just cancel something previously arranged.

In sum, everything has gone horribly wrong, and none of the solutions are truly good.
