Fulham now considering offer to sign “dominant” gem
Fulham, who are still hoping to sign their first player of 2025, are apparently thinking about
making a first offer to recruit a 20-year-old defender this season.
Due to connections to the Brazilian team Fluminense, a significant portion of the Cottagers’
transfer window has focused on Andreas Pereira’s future. Before Marco Silva put an end to the whispers, it appeared as though the offensive midfielder was getting closer to leaving.
Africa Foot, as reported by Sport Witness, claims that after being enthralled by the teenage
defender’s exploits, Fulham is now contemplating an offer to recruit Ousmane Diao from
Midtjylland.
The Danish team may value it at more than €4 million (£3 million), therefore Fulham will need
to spend money if they want to bring in their first January move. Even though it’s only 20 years old, that £3 million+ valuation might soon become a great deal in the future.
It wouldn’t be a terrible idea to welcome more depth in that position, especially if Fulham is aiming
for unexpected European qualifying this season, since Issa Diop was the only centre-back to make Silva’s bench in a 3-2 loss to West Ham United.
“Dominant” Diao is one to watch
What Fulham lacks in terms of defensive options is a young player who may someday play a
significant role. Currently, the more seasoned players Calvin Bassey, Joachim Andersen, and Diop
are taking centre stage, but there is undoubtedly space for a younger player to emerge and establish himself in order to provide Silva a much-needed boost in his backline.
Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig described Diao as a “complete and dominant” centre-back.
If Fulham makes a move, Diao will undoubtedly be a player to keep an eye on for the remainder
of the season and beyond.
