Chelsea confident of deal with Sporting CP wonderkid deemed ‘next Gyokeres’
According to a recent rumour, Chelsea thinks they can recruit Conrad Harder, the Sporting CP wonderkid.
The 19-year-old striker is seen as the next Viktor Gyokeres and has been connected to a move
to Stamford Bridge by TBR Football correspondent Graeme Bailey. After his incredible performance
in Portugal, the Sweden international will leave the team in the summer, and it is believed that the teenager will assume his place as the primary goal scorer.
Harder’s performances have been so impressive that some clubs are beginning to move their focus from Gyokeres to the younger Dane, who has scored nine goals and provided six assists in just 1,300 minutes of play.
Harder, who is 22 years old, is seven years younger than the former Coventry City player, which
makes him an even more alluring choice for teams looking to buy young players with long-term potential, like Chelsea.
The club has been constantly monitoring Harder’s progress at Sporting and rarely signs players
older than 25. They place a great deal of pressure on them to acquire the greatest young players
in the globe.
Chelsea look to sign the next Viktor Gyokeres
In fact, transfer analyst Bailey claims Chelsea is “backing themselves” to finally sign the Dane.
This is because they have been pursuing him for a longer period of time than other potential
suitors.
He told The Chelsea Chronicle, “They do like Conrad Harder an awful lot.” He is an intriguing
player who was clearly signed by Sporting to replace Viktor Gyokeres. He truly is a tremendous
talent, and Chelsea has been known to recognise exceptional players.
